Wild Earth Riesling 2011

Pale straw in colour with pale hues. Citrus on the nose, such as lemon and grapefruit with stonefruit and floral notes. Nectarine and citrus flavours come through on the palate. A dry style wine with medium weight and a crisp, balanced acidity with a lovely lingering finish.

This Wild Earth Riesling 2011 is sourced from the famous Felton Road subregion of Bannockburn. The vines are grown on steep slopes which assists in capturing additional sun while draining away any moisture that leads to unwanted frost. The schist-derived soils bring a balance of strength and minerality to the wine.
The fruit was harvested on 6 & 14 April 2011 and whole bunch pressed. The juice was inoculated with a selected wine yeast and fermented in stainless steel to retain the varietal's fruit characteristics. The fermentation was stopped, allowing the wine to retain around 6.8g/L residual sugar.
